In the present research, effect of micron sized graphite addition on microstructure and tensile failure Al6061 alloy has been studied. The metal matrix composites reinforced with 6, 9 12 varying weight percentages particles were fabricated by novel two step stir cast route which helps in improving wettability particles. synthesized subjected to microstructural studies, density, hardness properties testing. Microstructural characterizations obtained samples carried out SEM microscopy, EDS XRD patterns. occurrence confirmed density have decreased adding reinforcement, while ultimate strength yield strengths improved There was increase elongation composite after incorporation reinforcement. Various fracture mechanisms observed Al6061-graphite using SEM.
